Personal + Affordable Art

I enjoy commissions, as they allow me to tackle fresh themes and transform cherished subjects into unique artworks. They make great gifts and I welcome enquiries from individuals, businesses/organisations or charities.

Please don’t hesitate to get in touch to chat over what you have in mind.

For example:

celebrate or commemorate a much-loved pet;
capture your family home in a drawing or painting;
turn a special holiday location into art;
portray a boat, trophy fish, favourite fly/lure or fishing spot.

Commissioning a unique, personal artwork is easy:

Please send me a request using the Contact page form.
I will acknowledge receipt of your message. We will then discuss details, such as (i) photographs; (ii) preferred medium and size; (iii) what the subject means to you.
I will email you the price and provisional completion date. It will require at least a month and I may have other commission work in progress.
A sketch will be emailed for approval, before I proceed with the main artwork.
I will send you a photo of the picture on completion, to confirm you are happy. Payment is required before mailing.

Pricing

My work is priced to give great value for money. Art pricing can often be confusing, so to keep things simple, I consider just two factors: (i) picture size; and (ii) the complexity of the subject.

Each work is unique and the culmination of my creative process which involves exploring different ideas and compositions, test sketches, value and colour studies.

This means you can be confident in the value of the art you are receiving. It is my hope you will be thrilled with it, and return to buy again.

All pricing is in NZ dollars.
Art work is unmounted and unframed.

Postage and packaging

Packaging and postage is charged separately (due to the variable costs of size, weight and destination). I can provide an estimate from NZ Post for postage in NZ and overseas.
Paintings on high quality paper are carefully wrapped and placed in a protective tube for postage. Small canvases will be sent with the backing frame, then wrapped with protective cardboard. Large canvases may need to be disassembled for shipment (packaged as above) or alternative delivery/collection arrangements made.
